A Typical Day at Unicorn Nursery
Morning Session
7.00 – 9.00 Hello! Children are welcomed with smiles, cuddles and lots of free play. Toast
and a drink is offered to fill those hungry tummies.
9.00 – 10.00 Newstime, songs and Mat Chat for our little Unicorns
Topic work, songs and games for the pre-school class. Morning break and outside
play with a variety of outdoor equipment, the climbing frame, sand-pit and lots
of ride-on toys, circle games and exploration of the nursery garden!
10.00 – 10.30 Music and movement, dancing and singing time!
10.30 – 11.30 Current topic studies (See half-term planning goals) with lots of fun-filled
activities
11.30 – 12.30 Tidy-up, storytime, wash hands please. Followed by a delicious, healthy lunch

12.30 – 1.30 Snooze-time, or outside play
Afternoon Session
1.30 – 3.30 Back to work!
Cooking or using the large play equipment (such as our ball-pit), role play in
the dressing-up corner, messy play activities, such as painting, dough
modelling or sand and water play.
3.30 – 4.30 Tidy-up and Storytime!
Followed by Tea — Yummy!
4.30 – 6.00 Soft Play and quiet times, chats and cuddles with my teacher.
What a busy day I’ve had.
Getting ready to go home now.
